My BackgroundMy name is Aleah Westfall and I am going into my junior year at The Ohio State University. I am Majoring in Architecture through The Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture.
I aspire to travel across the world exploring the many different architecture and cultural styles, but what better place to start then the country in which I reside in. Touring architecture across America can teach you many different things such as the way culture, weather or environment can influence the architecture. It can also be a transformational experience just by seeing first hand the way other architects, engineers and designers have already solved problems based on structure, sustainability and ways of moving throughout a space. This transformational experience will help improve my design skills and problem solving methods to one day become a strong architect. |
The STEP Program
In my second year at Ohio State I was granted the opportunity to participate in the STEP program. This is a second year student transformational experience program. Throughout the program I participated in many co-curriculars and financial literacy courses that have improved my understanding of many things.
This program has granted me with a scholarship to take part in a transformational experience of my choice. I have designed a creative endeavor in which I will travel across America by train touring the different architecture styles and techniques in the many different cities.

THE RAIL PASS
Amtrak offers a Rail pass which allows you to stop in 8 different cities over a 15 day period. You are able to stay in that city for as long as you would like but each day will take away from your 15 day trip.
